It's about time. Let's get this proposal through in any form. We can worry about letting tenants have chickens later. Letting people sell eggs likewise can be a later consideration. I think once chickens become more commonplace it will be found they are a much less of a problem than dogs. Probably more like keeping a cat.
Generally people know better how to spend their money than does the government. After all, it's their money the government is spending. "Doing what is good for them" despite what they "think they want" is a losing policy for the people and the government; the road to Hell for any society.
At least a couple of Mount Pleasant village officials are having trouble with their property tax payments. It is interesting that neither of them seems to do much about reducing the Mt. Pleasant tax burden. High taxes continue to be a problem there.
